Clients In Action By Jessicouture

It's a absolute pleasure when my clients send me pictures of them wearing piece's I've created for them, so grateful when they share their happy moments with me.

Friday, 2 November 2012

When creating custom pieces I allow the client to have free range of the design so I can create for them exactly what they want. I recently created a custom made veil for Katy, a beautiful bride in London. She took one of my designs in my Etsy shop and added her own spin on it. Here is the original:

Katy wanted the cage veil to sit across her face at an a-symmetrical angle, she also wanted the silk organza flower increased in size to sit on the side of the head with more spray veil at the back. As I create everything by hand including the embellishments I was able to customise the piece to meet the exact requirements and here is how it turned out.

What Katy said: "I absolutely loved my birdcage veil - it was just the look I was after. So many people commented on it too."

The whole process was done online through my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/jessicabissell

Thank you to Katy who was an absolute pleasure to work with and create this piece for, she's looks so beautiful on her special day.

Jessicouture Shop Story

Etsy now let's you create and share your shop story, check mine out here Etsy About Jessicouture

I am a passionate Costumier, having studied Art & Design for over six years I finally obtained a degree in Theatrical Costume & Make-up in 2009, during which I fell in love with Millinery.  Following my deep desires I decided to start my own label Jessicouture in December 2010.

Taking the plunge into starting my own business, I was highly motivated by self-growth, after losing my father and the following sequence of challenging events that occurred, I really wanted to prove to myself it doesn't matter who you are or what difficulties you face, every person is capable of obtaining and achieving their goals & dreams.  After moving back to Cornwall with my degree in Theatrical Costume & Make-up, I really struggled to find work related to my field, so I decided I would create my own job and start my own business, I didn't know how I would achieve this but I am a great believer in doing what you love & the means to do it will follow. With help & support from The Prince's Trust I was given a grant of £200 & ever since I have steadily grown my business from there.
All my creations are made with love to help inspire others to follow their dreams & passions too.

My business & shop goals are to create hand crafted and couture fashion which is available to everyone. Fashion is one of the ways we identify ourselves as unique individuals. My work allows women & brides to be, the opportunity to live out their fashion dreams, creating & choosing their own unique style for their special day or event from my service. My aim is to make happy customers, I strive to give the best possible customer care & service, I am fast acting & always put my customer’s needs first. Planning and Personalising your wedding made easy?

Planning and Personalising your wedding made easy?

Every bride has there own individual unique ideas about their wished for wedding, whether you want the traditional, vintage, themed, big or small the general idea is to suit what you feel comfortable with to make your day special to you, stamping your identity on it.

With all the little details to think of it can sometimes be difficult to keep track of all your ideas etc.. Some brides use wedding planners to take the stress off, and others use binders and folders and do it themselves.  I would like to make a suggestion to the brides out there of using Pinterest, a fantastic visual online way of making mood boards and it is also great for social networking to and having a sneak peak at what others are up to in the world of weddings.

It's so easy to use and such a fun and creative way to collect all your ideas into one place...

I use pinterest myself to gather imagery and inspiration for my Artistry you can get my boards out here, http://pinterest.com/jessicouture/ please feel free to follow me, you my find some of my boards useful for your own wedding inspiration as I mainly pin everything to do with weddings and brides.

Be warned Pinterest is addictive ... Have fun and happy pinning

Spirituality in Business is a big key to unlocking the block to success

“Fall seven times and stand up eight” – Japanese proverb

You are your business; anything you believe about yourself will be reflected in the ‘success’ in your business.

What’s stopping you and your success?? These are questions you must ask yourself constantly to grow in the direction you wish to achieve.

The truest answers in life are often the simplest and are always there for you when you are ready hear and accept them.  We often resist the answers because we are fearful and our acceptance of ‘what is’ is not present, we all have concrete belief’s in our minds which can stop us from growing. When conflicts and undesirable situations occur in your experience, this is the ‘universes’ way of telling you a truth, it is always your choice on how you decide to react. You can resist the situation make it worse and stay where you are OR you can choose to accept ‘what is’ and decide to make a change.  It is that simple.

I have had many up’s and down’s in my life that have lead me to this point now of a clear and focused mind & heart. I am truly grateful for all experience’s, so called ‘good’ and ‘bad’ which have lead me to understand and release my fears more and more every day. I understand now all my so called failings are not failings but steps I need to take to learn and grow as a person.

You are your business, as you learn and grow so will your business.

Absolutely every human being on this planet is on their own individual journey of growth and happiness and absolutely everybody has the unlimited potential and love inside themselves to create what they want and everybody deserves the life they wish to lead and achieve their goals. The only limitations anyone ever has are the limits they give themselves.

So in order to grow and dissolve any untrue belief’s about yourself, you must come to a point where you fully love and accept yourself right ‘now’ in this moment, and that mean’s being loving and accepting of all your current situations and environment too, good or bad. Getting frustrated you haven’t met your goals yet isn’t the ‘now’ and getting annoyed you made a mistakes in the past isn’t ‘now’. All the mistakes and upsets of the past have brought you to this point so love, forgive and accept them, you have always done your best in every moment, if you had known differently, you would have done it differently, it’s all about learning and we cannot learn unless there are failings to learn from. Regret and guilt are a form of resistance to the truth of ‘what is’ and stop you from growing and moving forward.   For future worries and concerns there are none, the future isn’t hear yet and you cannot know what will happen, all you can ever do is act from this moment in time. All you ever have is NOW.

The core characteristic to stop fear worries and anxieties is ‘FAITH’. Absolute unwavering faith in yourself and your dream will eventually materialise your goal and it will help you overcome fearing the future and regretting the past. Ironically every single person who has achieved their dreams has ‘Failed’ to get there, the reason they achieved their desired results was due to the attitude to towards failure being positive using it to learn and grow.

“If I find ten thousand ways something won’t work, I haven’t failed. I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward” Thomas Edison.

My two goals in life are to be the best possible version of myself that I can be, for myself and for others and to follow my passion and do what I love to do and share it with the world. I think goals should never really be met with an end because life is growth, change and expansion.

If you want your business to change and grow, you must be willing to change and grow first and let go of any fear.
